FUNCTIONS:

C-level control
An oxygen sensor, a lambda probe or CO2 analyze all types of continuous and non continuous heat treatment units as well as endogas generators. The output signals can be sent to solenoid valves for Gas / Air, motor control valves or proportional valves with 0/4 - 20 mA.

KC/KH- control

An oxygen sensor or a lambda probe for all types of temper furnaces and bright anneal furnaces. The output signals can be sent to solenoid valves for Gas / Air, motor control valves or proportional valves with 0/4 - 20 mA.

O2- control ( oxidizing / reducing )
An oxygen sensor or a lambda probe for all types of sinter-, solder- and Oxidation furnaces. The output signals can be sent to solenoid valves for Gas / Air, motor control valves or proportional valves with 0/4 - 20 mA.

O2- control ( on combustion systems )
An oxygen sensor or a lambda probe for all types of combustion systems, heat and ceramic combustion furnaces as well as boiler combustions, gas generator etc. The output signals can be sent to solenoid valves for Gas / Air, motor control valves or proportional valves with 0/4 - 20 mA.

Temperature control:
A control zone with a self tuning algorithm for optimizing the control parameter and a free configurable regulating unit. The following regulating units could be chosen: On/Off, full load/partial load, motor control valves, star/triangle control or continuous output 0/4- 20 mA for thyristor control or 0/4 - 20 mA as controller of an external control cascade.

EXTENSIONS:

PROTHERM 100 EP
The PROTHERM 100EP extension module contains a plug-in card for the PROTHERM 100 as well as a relay module with a connecting cable. There are 5 digital inputs for 24V AC or 12V DC switching signals on the plug-in card. The set-values of the C-level can be set through digital inputs without a Host Computer of a plant management system. When using a plant management system these inputs are set through the Host computer.

Relay extension (REW)
The REW relay extension can be connected to the PROTHERM 100 EP plug-in card instead of a relay module. It enables 20 switching signals through galvanically isolated ‘open collector’ outputs, with a switching capacity of 24V / 50mA. Up to 4 RM relay modules can be connected optionally. In this case the relay extension needs an auxiliary power supply of 230V / 15VA.

FUNCTIONS:

The PROTHERM 300 program controller is composed of a programmer with modules, an atmosphere controller, a temperature controller and process linking. The required in- and outputs could be assigned to each function.

Programmer: The basic program allows a maximum of 50 processes with up to 20 stages where the order of events could be initiated through external control inputs. The following parameters can be modified: temperature set-values, atmosphere set-values, target values for the carburizing profile, the CO and H values for each stage, 15 relay tracks, furnace processes and the sequences of treatments.

Atmosphere control: The atmosphere measuring could optionally be generated by an oxygen probe, lambda probe or a CO- analyzer. The C -level, KC, AC, log pO2 and dew point values can be determined from of the input signals of the primary element. 

Temperature control: Temperature control configurable for charge furnaces with up to 4 control zones as a individual controller (e.g. glow chamber and oil bath) or as a cascade (e.g. shaft furnace).

Process linking: On a host computer via RS422 Interface. Parametering and program administration over an optional PC- software RC. (remote control)

EXTENSIONS:

Relay extension (REW)
The relay extension REW could be connected to outputs DIGOUT1 and DIGOUT2 respectively instead of a relay module. It makes the output of 20 switching signals over galvanically isolated ‘open collector ‘ possible, with a switching output of 24V 50mA. Up to 4 relay modules RM could be connected optionally. In this case the relay extension requires an auxiliary power supply of 230V 15VA. Maximum 2 REW on a PROTHERM 300 are possible, that correspond to 40 switch outputs.
 

Digital input unit (PE)
The digital input unit (PE-Module) permits the connection of 32 input signals 12-24V DC or 24V AC for the process control. If a PE- Module is installed, the 5 digital input signals on the basic appliance can be cancelled. The PE-Module makes the optimal adaptation of the controller system to the process surroundings possible. If required the input signals could be placed at the host- computer's disposal, for example to the disturb message processing.

FUNCTIONS:

The PROTHERM 300 program controller is composed of a programer with modules and a diffusion calculator, an atmosphere controller, a temperature controller and process linking. The required in- and outputs could be assigned to each function.

Programmer with an integrated diffusion calculator: After entering material specific data, as for example the alloy elements in a steel, it allows the diffusion calculator to set target values for ‘carburizing depth’ and ‘surface- C’. During the program operating the carbon course in the steel in consideration of the soot- and carbid limit as well as the setting surface- C- content ‘on-line’ is calculated and controlled up to the setting carburization depth. The progression of the carburizing process can be viewed directly on the display.

The basic program allows a maximum of 50 processes with up to 20 stages where the order of events could be initiated through external control inputs.
